Texas Untamed

Wayne Burns is an outdoor enthusiast. Mr. Ulyssess Burns, Wayne’s dad introduced him early to the outdoors at the age of five, teaching him the great fundamentals of hunting and fishing. In 1990 Wayne placed 2nd in the Ohio River BassMasters Classic as well as taking the largest bass that day in the Classic. Wayne is a former country musician, who played with Nashville artists and appeared on the big screen in Hollywood California, CBS and New World Productions.

Wayne has been featured hunting on many television shows and was the host of his own show for many years called, Outdoor Allstars, where he not only was the host, hunter but also wrote and performed all the music in the show. His Outdoor skills are bar none above and beyond great! His passion has taken him all across the country to hunt and fish some of America’s finest wild game. Growing up in Blount County, Alabama, Burns “knows” what the outdoors is ALL about.

Wayne recently moved to Texas and has teamed up with his long-time friend and fellow hunter, Mike Johnson to start a new venture, Texas Untamed. With this combination this show will definitely capture interest in homes across America.

Mike Johnson is all about the outdoors, his family and God. Growing up on a small farm in southeastern Alabama Mike learned at an early age the importance of hard work and respect for the outdoors and the wildlife that live there. Mike began hunting and fishing on the many farms and management areas of south Alabama at a very early age. His parents still talk about Mike taking his dog, Heidi, in the mornings and evenings when done helping around the farm to go and hunt. To this day you can often find Mike sitting in a tripod or pop-up blind up close and personal with the wildlife as he bow hunts.

After Mike finished school, he moved to Texas and quickly fell in love with the many different terrains and types of native wildlife that Texas has to offer. Mike has lived in Texas for almost 30 years, but still makes time to visit his parent’s farm where his love for the outdoors began. Mike has passed down his love of the outdoors to his three sons, Matthew, Justin and Austin. All three are excellent outdoors men and hunters with a passion for all types of hunting like their father.

Mike and his long-time friend and fellow hunter Wayne Burns were sitting at the kitchen table at Sunday dinner and kicked around the idea of starting a show that would not only inspire the love of the outdoors and hunting but also provide family entertainment. With Mike Johnson and Wayne Burns hosting, Texas Untamed, this show not only promises to deliver great hunting but also provide entertainment for the entire family and inspire others to enjoy the outdoors.
